It turns out, 26% of Brits are eagerly awaiting the Tesla Cybertruck hitting UK roads, and some are even ready to go the extra mile (pun intended) to do so.
While some are captivated by the Cybertruck’s bold design and unique appeal, the majority (74%) of Brits said it’s not quite their cup of tea. Their reasons are practical, and perhaps a little predictable:
The survey laid bare a big generational divide when it comes to enthusiasm for the Tesla Cybertruck. Among the over-55s, a resounding 93% said they wouldn’t consider buying a Cybertruck. Perhaps the idea of squeezing the large car into a village car park—or even explaining it to their neighbours—is a bit too much to handle. Imagine the curtain twitching! Younger respondents, on the other hand, are far more intrigued as more than half (55%) of 25–34-year-olds expressed interest in buying the car once available on UK soil.
And it’s not just the Cybertruck getting the cold shoulder from older generations. When it comes to electric vehicles overall, 32% of British drivers said they weren’t interested, with nearly half (48%) of this EV-sceptic group aged 55 and above. Whether it’s a love for traditional gas-guzzling engines or just a slight reluctance to embrace change, older Brits are proving harder to win over. For now, it seems the Cybertruck is more likely to turn heads among the younger crowd than in Britain’s quieter cul-de-sacs.
When it comes to Cybertruck enthusiasm, Londoners are leading the way. In London, 50% of respondents said they’d consider buying a Tesla Cybertruck, nearly double the national average of 26%. This might seem surprising given the city’s well-known parking challenges—especially when you consider that 43% of cars in London are parked kerbside.
Perhaps it’s the truck’s attention-grabbing design and futuristic appeal that has Londoners picturing themselves cruising down King’s Road. Or perhaps Londoners, accustomed to the city’s bustling, crowded streets, see the Cybertruck as the ultimate way to stand out amidst the chaos.
The Tesla Cybertruck has divided opinion in the UK. For some, it’s worth making space for, but for most its size fees impractical for Britain’s tight roads and small parking spaces.
