Crystal Palace Football Players and Their Cars

Crystal Palace F.C. is the oldest football team in the world, ⚽ and one of the best in the UK - although don’t say that to long-time rivals, Brighton & Hove Albion F.C.! The Glaziers are based in South London, but they have players from all over the globe. Whilst on the pitch, they’re a team, but we wonder if there’s a little friendly competition between the players over who has the best car collection. We’ve scoured the internet to find out who has the sweetest rides and who could do with a premier upgrade.

Jordan Ayew

Firstly, there’s Jordan Ayew. A few years ago the Ghanian national player went out partying and managed to crash his Porsche Panamera. Whilst many would consider this a devastating loss, Ayew simply went out and bought a new Mercedes-Benz. Let’s hope this one lasts a little longer!

Jack Butland

Ayew isn’t the only Crystal Palace player to have bad luck with vehicles: Jack Butland had his car, an Audi RS5, stolen back in 2014. Butland took to social media to ask the public to help track down the missing car. Unfortunately, it seems that it was never found. Recently, he’s been photographed driving a golf cart, but that’s not his only ride! Butland owned, and then sold, a customised Range Rover Sport, complete with a refrigerator compartment and surround camera, valued at nearly £100,000. Butland doesn’t just like driving cars: he’s also visited Monte Carlo to watch some of the fastest drivers in the world take to the track.

Vincent Guaita

Vincent Guaita might spend most of his time on the pitch standing in goal, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t like to move fast when it suits him. The Spanish goalie has a classic red Mercedes SL65 AMG.

Nathaniel Clyne

Nathaniel Clyne also seems to only have one vehicle, but like Guaita he’s made sure it’s an excellent one. Clyne has a grey Bentley with a personalised number plate that spells his name, so you always know who’s coming. If you’ve got an interest in cars, why not treat yourself to more than one? Nathaniel Clyne has quite the collection, which includes a Bentley Continental GT, Rolls-Royce Wraith and a Mercedes GLE Coupe. Although it seems like he won’t be part of the England squad this year at the men’s World Cup, we know that he’s had a great career and has the cars to show for it.

Jeffrey Schlupp

Jeffrey Schlupp’s car collection might be big, but the smallest vehicle is the toy Range Rover belonging to Schlupp’s son, Arlo. Schlupp himself has a similar black Land Rover and a black 4x4 Mercedes-Benz, as well as a white Bentley and a grey Porsche. Let’s hope he doesn’t let Ayew borrow it!

Wilf Zaha

Finally, Wilfried Zaha has more cars than most people could dream of. His collection has been valued at over £1 million, and has some incredibly impressive vehicles. There’s the acoustic set: a black push-bike, and on holiday Zaha decided to go horse riding on the beach. Much like Schlupp, Zaha has a son who loves playing with his toy 4x4. Zaha also owns a Mercedes G63 AM3, a Mercedes S65 AMG, a Mercedes-Benz GLE, a Range Rover Evoque, a Porsche Cayenne, a Ferrari, a Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4, a Lamborghini Aventador LP74, a black Rolls-Royce Dawn, a Rolls-Royce Ghost and a Rolls-Royce Wraith. Just like comedian Jerry Seinfeld, I would expect his garage to be bigger than his house!

Takeaways

When the Eagles aren’t flying high or dominating the pitch, they’re still moving in style. The colour of choice seems to be black, and everyone’s partial to a BMW or Mercedes-Benz. We can’t blame them, really: they look fantastic and drive like a dream.

And, with the Crystal Palace wage bill, it’s not really a surprise that the boys have such impressive car collections. However, a footballer’s wage isn’t what is needed for an impressive car.
