What is Carmoola Plus?
Carmoola Plus is a rolling monthly membership that covers unexpected mechanical and electrical breakdowns. Memberships include parts, labour, and breakdown recovery. Think engine, gearbox, steering, electrics, cooling systems, and more. The full list of covered components is detailed in the plan booklet.
What's not covered?
Wear and tear items aren't included - brake pads, tyres, clutch components, and parts that naturally wear out over time. Pre-existing faults, cosmetic damage, and anything caused by an accident or negligence are also excluded. We know that's a lot to take in, so the full list is in the warranty plan booklet. If there's any doubt about whether something's pre-existing, Warrantywise will review it on a case-by-case basis.
When does the cover start?
Your warranty starts the day you join. Breakdown recovery is covered from day one. Premature failure cover — where a part shows early signs of failure before it fully breaks down — kicks in after the first 30 days or 500 miles driven, whichever comes first.
Is my car eligible?
Your car needs to have a current MOT, be serviced in line with the manufacturer's schedule, and have under 200,000 miles on the clock. Cover ends if your car reaches 18 years old or 200,000 miles during your membership
Do I need to keep my car serviced?
Yes - this one matters. You need to keep your car serviced in line with your manufacturer's recommended schedule throughout your membership. If a repair is linked to a missed service, it won't be covered.
If your car's service history has gaps, you'll need to bring it up to date within 14 days of joining. After that, you can start making repair requests. Keep your receipts and service records somewhere safe, you may need to share them.
Is this the same as car insurance?
No. Carmoola Plus is an unregulated contractual warranty — not an insurance product. It covers mechanical and electrical breakdown, not accidents or third-party damage. That's what your car insurance is for. The warranty is administered by Warrantywise, not an insurer.
Do I need a Carmoola loan to join?
Yes, for now. Carmoola Plus is available to customers with an active Carmoola finance agreement. You can add it at checkout when you take out your loan, or any time while your agreement is running.
Is there a contract or minimum term?
None. It's a rolling monthly subscription — minimum term, no exit fee.
Can I cancel if I change my mind?
Yes, any time. You can cancel from the app in seconds. No penalty, no awkward call. You’ll stay covered until your paid monthly period ends, and no further payments will be taken.
What garage can I use?
Any VAT-registered garage of your choice — it doesn't have to be a main dealer. Your garage will just need to contact Warrantywise to get the repair authorised before starting work.
How do I get a repair sorted?
Open the Carmoola app and tap the repair button, where you can fill in an online form or call Warrantywise directly (Mon–Fri 9 am–5 pm). Make sure to report a fault within 7 days of noticing it, and repairs must be authorised before work starts.
What is the repair limit?
There's no limit on the number of repairs you can make; repair costs are capped at your car's retail value. Each individual repair is subject to a £3,000 cost limit, as set out in your warranty schedule. Parts are priced at UK manufacturer retail rates.
